A month to go and are you ready? I'm driving tacks with the bow now and making sure I'm busting a hard sweat daily working out. The call of the high country is strong. The sounds of bugling bulls, winds in the aspens and cool crisp nights is driving me forward. How about you? Very Happy

I had a great session on the range yesterday. 95% of my shots where right where I wanted them to be. the other 5% I knew I messed the shot up.

In the next week or two I will probably pull out all my equipment and go through it and make sure it is all ready to go. I will have one rubber tub that everything I need will live in. This way all I have to do is throw the tub in the car and I know I have everything I need.

I need a little more practice with the calls, thats the one area I need to work on daily from here on out.

not ready yet, but getting there. I'm still about 4# heavier than I want to be, but I've really stepped up my workout regimen.

I still need to practice more at yardages >30, but out to 30, I'm feeling really good.

Jsut spent a long weekend up at elk camp cutting wood, scouting and such.

I twisted my darned ankle last Saturday while at a waterpark with the kids (I still dont know how I got injured at a waterpark.... but it happenned).

As such, my jogging has been interrupted, so I switched to bicycling, which doesnt hurt my ankle for some reason.

Still practicing my bow a good bit. I'm vacationing with the family up in Elk country very soon, so I'll try and get in better shape + practice more then.

Sorry to hear about your ankle. Hope it gets better. I for one will be leaving for British Columbia in the morning to take some R&R and take a break from the heat. Two weeks on Vancouver Island. Should be a gas.

I also twisted my ankle yesterday morning, as I set out on an early morning run. First thing I thought was "oh no, this could put elk/moose hunting in jeapordy". While it turned out to be more minor than I first thought (just some swelling and no bruising, but it hurt like the heck at first), it definitely has me thinking about backing off on workouts to avoid injury (though I don't want to).

Went to visit in-laws in Grand Lake, CO last weekend. They have a place that backs up to forest, so i got to go out and do some bow practice, much of it set up in hunting situations, rather than run-of-the-mill range practice. Shot fairly well (which is surprising, busy work schedule has not allowed as much practice otherwise). Had two moose (year-old calves) walk up on me during a practice session, they walked within about 20 yards of my target block!

Got back from Canada this week. Went out and screwed the broadheads on today and made the final adjustments to get them hitting where my field points do. Will make a trip to the range in the morning just for kicks. Two weeks to go, if you're not ready then you'll have to go as you are. Yee Hah!!!
